During the winter of 1944 before the Battle of the Bulge, two locations were vital to the Germans and the Allies, Bastogne and St. Vith. The locations of major crossroads for resupplying and re-enforcing each army for the battle they knew were ahead. The German armored columns had to take St. Vith and stop the American Army, moving like a juggernaut towards the homeland.
